Apologia

I doubt many people come here, but I wanted to apologize to those of you who do, for my terrible blogger behavior. I was like this as a kid with diaries, too. I'd get a new one, all shiny and untouched. I'd write faithfully for a few days, sometimes as long as a few weeks, and then one day years later I'd find it in a heap of junk in a drawer somewhere. Sometimes I could find the tiny key, sometimes not. (I did love those tiny locks and keys, though). But I digress. The point is, I'm a terrible blogger. SO.

To recap, since May, you know.

1) Ride for Roswell!
On June 25, I rode up around the UB North Campus on the 33-mile route. It was kind of a drizzly, chilly day, but I was toasty in the velo. I was zooming, breaking out to the left to pass regular cyclists struggling against the cold wind. I passed a few serious cyclists who were riding longer routes, all of whom would pedal frantically, glare at their spedometers, glare at me, then sigh and slide back in behind me. Because I've become such a pro at fixing flats, I stopped to help some folks that were having tire problems, so those poor cyclists kept having to see me pass them again and again. But really, it's not about racing, averaging 25 miles an hour, or spreading the velo love. It's about raising money for cancer research and to support patient programs at the hospital that treated my older sister, both of my parents, and plenty of my extended family and friends. Because of my awesome family, friends, and colleagues, I raised over $1000 ($1445 to be exact).
You can check out the photos the pros snapped during the ride.

Speaking of being a bad blogger, it has not just to do with my bad journaling behaviors, but also with the fact that I'm a grad student, and that eats a lot of time. So, tune in next time for a transport report!
